#510 Moscow-Baikal-Khabarovsk-Kamchatka-Moscow

We invite you to experience boundless and mysterious Russia, trace the contrasts of nature, treasures of its ancient history and antique legends.
During this trip you will cross the whole Russia and visit such cities as Moscow, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk and as well enjoy the unique nature of the Baikal Lake and Kamchatka peninsula.
Our journey begins in Moscow – the capital of Russia. While being in Moscow you will have an excursion around the city and visit such famous places as Kremlin, Armory Chamber, Metro, some Cathedrals and Old Arbat– one of the legendary streets here.  From Moscow the airplane will bring us 6 hours ahead – to the capital of Eastern Siberia – Irkutsk city where we start our way to Baikal - one of the most perfect creations of nature. The Baikal Lake is the oldest, the deepest and the biggest reservoir of fresh water (20% of whole fresh water reserve in the world). You will have a unique chance to visit the Olkhon Island that is famous for numerous archaeological monuments and nice microclimate (the quantity of sunny days here is nearly the same as in Italy). During the trip in Baikal you will explore its beautiful nature, life style of local inhabitants, mysterious stories and legends.  You will also have an opportunity to fish for omul and taste real Baikal “Ukha” (Russian fish soup).
The next destination of our trip is Khabarovsk city – the capital of Russia Far East where we get by famous Transsiberian railway. First class comfort train within 2 days will bring us through the boundless expanse of taiga forest, by-passing many small villages, towns and old buildings of the railroad terminals. Khabarovsk city extends along the right shore of the Amur river for 50 km. You will have bus sightseeing, explore the center of the city that is masterly built on the three hills, walk along the quay and have a boat trip on the Amur river.
From Khabarovsk we take a flight to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – the centre of the Kamchatka peninsula. Kamchatka is one of the most enigmatic and unexplored places on Earth. It is a land of great volcanic activity (totally 160 volcanoes, 29 of them are active), rapid mountain rivers full of salmon, natural hot springs, big population of brown bear and abundance of other rare species of plants and animals as well as sea mammals. We will explore Central Kamchatka and an ancient mountain range – volcanoes Ostry and Plosky Tolbachik and new Tolbachik cones which were formed in the result of Great Tolbachik Fissure Eruption 1975-76.  We also invite you to visit the «Kamchatka Switzerland» – small Esso settlement – the center of the Even people culture (one of four indigenous people in Kamchatka). During the trip you will have a chance to fly to the Valley of Geysers which is considered to be one of the greatest discoveries of the 20th century. The valley will greet you with the streams of steaming vapour and sparkling water splashes. You will not find anywhere in the world something equal to the Valley of Geysers with such a dense concentration of the spouting springs and geysers on the restricted area. Once you come to Kamchatka you will never forget its spectacular views, mighty volcanoes and geysers, unique and mysterious nature.
